Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles DLC Starting
April 1st, 2008 by Will Prusik in DLC, News, Wii, Wiiware
It used to be that updates for games came in the form of boxed expansion packs that’d add on new episodes/levels, maybe a character type or two and some additional monsters/units/equipment/whatever was suitable to the type of game it was. For rabid fans of a game it was a great way to string along the experience by adding some new bits and hopefully some replay value with the new character(s). Now the big thing is downloadable content. Most commonly it’s extra levels for FPS/strategic shooter games or songs for the various rhythm games out there. Wiiware game Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King is starting up a line of DLC for its downloadable game today. There’ll be several additional player races, the Lilty, Yuke and Selkie races to join the Clavat. Each race is only 300 Wii points or you can get them as a bundle for 800. There will also be two buildings you can purchase for 200 Wii points each that’ll boost your abilities and taxes. Unfortunately those you’ll have to unlock in dungeons before you can use them. There are also some new duds for your king and support character that you’ll be able to don for 100 wii points a pop as soon as you purchase them. All these goodies and future items will be downloadable through the game’s menu system itself, not the wii shopping channel.
