Ubisoft Goes Steaming Mad

Seeing as how all publishers were filling up with hot steam, Ubisoft decided to jump onto the Steam bandwagon, too, and what a jump it is – over 40 titles will be released through the service, including the upcoming launch of Assassin’s Creed: Director’s Cut Edition which is currently up for pre-purchase.

The publisher’s initial offering is meager, though, with the stealth title Splinter Cell and shooter Far Cry being the first two titles up. The former is going for $19.95 and the latter for $9.95; both are selling at a 10% discount until April 8.

“Ubisoft will be delivering the largest library of titles available from any single publisher or developer to Steam,” said Valve business development director Jason Holtman, director of business development at Valve.
