Japan 12 Month Hardware/Software Sales
April 3rd, 2008 by Brian Lockhart in News
Famitsu was ever so kind to recap the last fiscal year (April 2007-March 2008) in Japan with the top 5 pieces of hardware and the top 5 pieces of software by sales. You probably won’t be too surprised, but Nintendo stole the gold, and silver, and basically every other medal imaginable. In the software realm of things, the inter-Nintendo competition is far more interesting, with the top software title on the list turning out to be a big of a surprise. Wii Fit stole the show, and since it was only available for 4 of the 12 months (and mostly sold out for those 4 months as well), it certainly moved some pretty decent numbers. Smash Bros as well made the number 4 slot, slipping behind by a mere few hundred thousand, but given its extremely recent release date, that’s nothing to be ashamed of. (Although it fell behind Mario Party DS, so I guess that isn’t saying much).
