Mercenaries 2 Gets Release Date, Sweet Trailer

While it’s unlikely that video games will ever have the emotional impact and depth that a well written, directed and acted dramatic film does, there’s one genre they’ve got a good chance at competing with: action movies. Due to the longer format of video games they can deliver a more fleshed out story that punctuates the epic gun battles, chase scenes and explosions. A prime example is Mercenaries 2: World In Flames. A trailer has just been released that not only lets us know the release date (August 31st, 2008) but shows us some of the incredible action scenes possible. Can’t watch videos at work/school? Some highlights include tearing through a shantytown of crude huts and shacks in a jacked up truck, kicking enemy soldiers out of tanks and the ever popular air strikes.
