Gamespot reports that a sequel to Geometry Wars, the addicting shooter game from Bizarre, is in the works, citing a listing in the online database for the Australian Classification Board. According to the listing, Activision is developing and publishing Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 on multiple platforms; the game has been rated “G” – the Australian equivalent of ESRB’s “E for Everyone” rating.

The site suggests that the listing is not bogus, pointing out Activision’s buyout of Bizarre in September 2007 and the success of the series as major driving factors behind the making of the game. There is also the fact that classification boards “typically abstain from rating nonexistent games.”

As expected, no release date is known.
