Legendary Forge

With their previous Heroic Map Pack for Halo 3, Bungie showed that they are not only dedicated to improving Halo with interesting maps, but also just as focused on improving the Forge by adding Foundry, as well as some extra objects and updates. Today Bungie has shown that, once again the upcoming DLC will also focus on improve on the Forge aspects of Halo 3 again. For the most part th updates consist of themed objects, most noticeably the Forerunner walls included in the Avalanche map. Bungie also fixed some minor bugs. For example, objects, such as crates, will no longer jitter. It’s about time, I’m getting tired of a tower of fusion coils falling on me because the crate I set them on apparently has ADD.
While all of these announced additions are great, one particular Forge feature, called Forge filters, stood out like a sore thumb among the usual list of added objects. While other elements of Forge are used to alter the gameplay and design of Halo 3 maps, Forge filters will be used to change the games artistic style, primarily for use with screenshots and machinima. Once placed Forge filters will do exactly as the name implies and add a real time, in engine, visual filter. These filters include “Juicy”, “Gloomy”, “Old Timey”, “Pen & Ink”,
“Nova”, and finally “Color Blind”. Unfortunately, as it was with the Heroic Map Pack, the new Forge additions will only be compatible with the Legendary maps.
