Mass Effect PC Delayed to May 28th

April 8th, 2008 Posted in News, PC

Mass Effect for the PC has been pushed back by several weeks, with a few decent reasons provided. The development team is certainly putting a lot of polish on the product to fix the less than favourable loading times, or the extremely confusing HUD/useless for the PC release.

The official forums had to say, “The additional time will allow us to incorporate more play-testing feedback, add extra polish and tune the additional features so that Mass Effect is a natural and outstanding PC gaming experience.”

But beyond all the extra development reasoning behind the delay, I’d like to predict it was simply too close to another high profile release hitting the week before. We’ve seen this migrating effect on nearly every single platform, with all developers trying to distance themselves from you know what. The only folks that don’t seem to care one way or the other is Nintendo as they chug along with two more major release in the coming months.

Either way, this last minute delay should hopefully mark the last, as PC gamers can finally take full advantage of this engrossing space opera and join the rest of us who look forward to the trilogy.
