Interplay Resurrecting Dead Franchises, Fallout MMO

Mdkcover_front Bringing back some of my favorite games back from the dead, publisher Interplay announced in its yearly earnings report that it hopes to pursue development of sequels to some of its best-selling franchises, including Earthworm Jim and MDK. They are also considering making sequels for Descent and Dark Alliance as well. The company is also hoping to cash in on the success of the Fallout series and is considering on making a MMO based off it.

Interplay revealed that it has recently begun the process of hiring developers with the goal of restarting in-house development. The publisher also said that it is still looking to secure funding for the Fallout MMO project. As part of its deal with Bethesda, Interplay must raise $30 million in funding and begin work on it by 2010.
