Nintendo Releasing White Gamecube Controller In Japan
April 10th, 2008 by Will Prusik in Action, News, Wii
It seems that despite the love of the world for the Wii, some games appeal more in a traditional controller format. Smash Bros. Brawl seems to have spawned enough of a movement in this direction that Nintendo is ressurecting the Gamecube Controller and giving it a new white finish to match with the newest console. There are only two drawbacks: first of all, it’s the wired version, so those of you with huge flatscreen tvs might want to consider looking for controller extension cords. The second issue is by far the bigger one. The controller’s only being put out in Japan for the time being. ‘The time being’ could in actuality be synonymous with ‘forever’ as there are no plans to bring this controller to the rest of the world and considering the ratio of colored electronics available in Japan vs Everywhere Else is rather high, it’s unlikely they’ll bother. If you’re an import junkie, the controller is set to retail at 2,000 this month, which is about $20.
