Activision: Other Companies Suck, We Rule!

April 16th, 2008 Posted in Business, FPS, News, Xbox 360 by Rajiv Ashrafi

activision Talking smack to CVG, Activision marketing director David Tyler criticized the competition as “failing to inspire” when it came to the first-person shooter market and Call of Duty 4 in particular.

“We’re pleased to have Call of Duty 4 leading the way in the FPS genre, with recent launches such as Army of Two and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 failing to inspire,” he said to the publication.

The game has sold big in both North America and Europe, and is currently selling well enough in a little country called Japan. The recently released Variety Map pack is also said to be doing good business on Xbox Live (a PSN version is coming).

“Call of Duty 4 has been a phenomenal success for us and reflects Activision’s commitment to creating truly ground-breaking games,” he continued, saying that quite a few “normal” gamers as well as a number of celebrities are also joining in on the action.
