Original Soul Calibur Headed to XBLA

April 18th, 2008 Posted in Action, News, Xbox 360 by Rajiv Ashrafi

SoulCalibur Gamers everywhere will undoubtedly be happy to learn that the first entry in the Soul Calibur fighting series is heading to Xbox Live Arcade, according to an announcement by Namco Bandai. The game will be presented on the console in HD resolution and will feature all of the standard arcade, training, story and survival modes from the original.

Interestingly, online leaderboards will be available, though only the original game’s local offline multiplayer is planned for release. The game is said to be based on the superior Dreamcast edition rather than the poorly received arcade edition.

Soul Calibur is set for release this Summer. The fourth entry in the series, Soul Calibur 4, is scheduled to slice up stores on July 29 on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
