No Gears of War 2 Demo Before Release

Shacknews carries confirmation from Epic Games that there won’t be a demo of upcoming action sequel Gears of War 2.

“[There are] no plans for a demo,” revealed associate producer Tanya Jessen to the site. “The reason being that it’s been such a fast turnaround. A two year production cycle, for a game of this caliber, is really short.”

It mirrors the lack of a playable demo for the original Gears of War, which debuted on Xbox 360 in late 2006. The game still went on to sell over three million copies.

However, Jessen would not comment on the possibility of a post-release demo. “As far as our plans after we ship, I can’t really speak to that,” she said.
