Citing an article in The Financial Times, Gamesindustry.biz reports that Eidos owner SCi Entertainment may be close to finalizing a deal worth $100 million with NBC Universal, one that would see the latter become a major shareholder in the company. The publisher is also said to be in talks with Time Warner about potentially increasing its 10 percent stake in the company or bringing in NBC Universal.
Though SCi has declined to comment on the matter, FT reports that a deal with one or the other could be completed as early as within the next few weeks. A deal with either of the two could be a precursor to a full takeover of the company, but the Times states that this is currently not under discussion.
