What you seem to fail to recognize is the context within which Higginbotham was speaking. As a stock analyst he is interested in growth and increase in growth and not a repetition of last years results. So when he claims that said up and coming games will fail to make a splash what he's really trying to say is they will not massively outsell GTA4 and Wii Fit. As for MGS4 this is a case in point; I bought it the day of its release at a local Gamestop in the afternoon without a pre-order and they had a bunch of them in stock still; the same can not be said for my endeavors to obtain a copy of GTA4 the day after its release.
