Ghostbusters Will Slime You

Of all the hilarious moments from the first ‘Ghostbusters’ film, few are more memorable than the trio’s first job where they ran into the iconic Slimer. Or rather, he ran into them, Bill Murray’s “Peter Venkman” to be specific. While there weren’t many other messy moments until the film’s finale with the explosion of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, there’s nothing people love more than a good bucket or two of slime. They used to sell small plastic tubs of official Ghostbusters slime years ago, and the trend will continue into the ‘third movie’ (a.k.a. the upcoming Ghostbusters video game).
The game is going to feature some interesting physics capabilities as the designers attempt to create a truly unique and enjoyable experience that’ll be loved by Ghostbusters fans and gamers alike. One of the most interesting features will come in what they’re calling ’slime tethers’. It seems that later on in the game you’ll be able to use your proton pack to shoot strings of slime that can be used to tie together virtually any objects in sight. Even suspending a car from a wall or ceiling will be possible. Want to glue a whole line of people across the busy streets of Manhattan in a forced protest? Go right ahead. I’m not sure exactly what the functionality of it will be, but it certainly sounds fun.
One of the other impressive features in the Ghostbusters game is the amount of objects/people the game keeps track of. A game set in Manhattan would feel rather cheap if the entirety of the game experience had you shut in office buildings, hotels and sewer tunnels hunting ghosts. Accurately portraying the crowded streets of New York would have been impossible a handful of years ago, but the Ghostbusters game will be able to animate and keep track of thousands of objects on-screen at the same time. This won’t just be people either, as monsters could form from floating piles of books, garbage or pretty much anything readily at hand.
