Guinness: GTA 4 "Potential Record Breaking Giant"

3560_gtaiv_screenshot With Grand Theft Auto IV due out in a couple of hours (though it has actually been available for days), Guinness World Records authorities sent out word that they expect the game to be a “potential record breaking giant.” Keeping that in mind, the records authorities sent out a list of records and honors that already belong to the venerable franchise. Here they are:

• First Full “Sandbox” Action-Adventure- GTA III
• Biggest Selling Game of 2001- GTA III
• Biggest Selling Game of 2002- GTA: Vice City
• Best-selling Playstation 2 game of all time- GTA: Vice City
• Best-selling PSP game of all time- GTA: Liberty City Stories
• Largest in-game soundtrack- GTA: San Andreas
• Largest Voice Cast in a video game- GTA: San Andreas
• Most Guest Stars In A Video Game Series- Grand Theft Auto Franchise

Those are quite a few records in GTA’s name! Hopefully GTA 4 will add more to the franchise.
