Its measures in futility. They can't raise the bar to the point were its to costly to deter pirating, the only viable option they have is to make some very appealing featured only accessable through subscription or some form after they get you hooked on an already great game. People pirate cause they dont want to blow 50$ on a game that very well could be a pos like so many games these days.
