Casual Games Get a Whole New Budget

When you think about casual internet games, you usually don’t associate the concept with million dollar budgets, but PopCap is blurring the lines. While PopCap is already responsible for break out hits like Peggle, their newest title to debut later this year has already passed the million dollar mark, it may be a casual game, but it is not running a casual budget.

Of course, the budget can also be blamed on some encountered miss turns that the company has admittedly had while developing the game. “It’s been in production for some time -– we took a few wrong turns with the product and turned back to go in different directions.”

Little else is known about the game at this point in time, but expect to see word of it later this year, if a bigger budget makes a better game, this one is sure to be worth checking out.
