Robust Multiplayer, 4-player Co-op in Gears of War 2

Shacknews carries word from Microsoft’s Spring Showcase that Gears of War 2 may feature extensive co-operative gameplay modes, though no details were revealed.

Epic Games designer and Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski, when queried about four-player co-op, said: “We’re not announcing anything about co-op at this time, we’ll probably get around to it around E3 time, but rest assured, it will be bigger and better.”

He continued, saying that the “multiplayer is incredibly robust,” adding that there will be “lots of multiplayer maps, lots of modes” and that they have the sort of functionality that gamers have come to “expect this day and age.”

Gears of War 2 will be released for the Xbox 360 this November and will pick up from the end of the original.
