Nintendo Forced to Pay $21M

Word has it, Nintendo has recently been found guilty of infringing a number of sensor patents filed by previously unheard of company, Anascape. Ordered by a Texas court to pay $21M to Anascape for infringing these patents, Nintendo hopes to appeal this case.
This law suit comes as no surprise considering the booming success of Nintendo’s console, it was only a matter of time before a smaller company looked to cash in on said success.
Nintendo was not the only company under fire as Anascape had also previously filed suit against Microsoft for infringing a patent that included a remote controller with analog buttons. But of course Microsoft, being the company it is, settled the dispute before Nintendo’s ruling for an unreleased sum.
