In an interview with the Seattle Times, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley went on to comment that MMO games will be important to the success of the PS3. “I think MMOs are going to be a real strong selling point for the PS3 long term - there’s going to be some great ones on the PS3,” he said.
Smedley added that games such as The Agency cannot be found on the Xbox 360, referring to the internally developed cross-platform MMO.
It can be noted that Microsoft had previously tried to get MMOs for the Xbox 360, with the now dead Marvel Universe Online. The console, however, does play host to Final Fantasy XI, and Age of Conan and All Points Bulletin are said to be in the works for the console.
