Valve has once again revealed the results of its latest PC hardware survey that it runs through Steam, asking players to submit information about their computers to the system for analysis. This one was run on Steam users from November 13, 2007 to May 15, 2008.
The trends seem to have changed a bit it seems. According to their survey results, NVIDIA cards occupy the top six slots of graphics cards among the service’s users, with the GeForce 8800 leading at 9.36%. Interestingly, only 9.57% of users can make use of DirectX10.
The most common memory configuration was of 2GB and above. Also, there are apparently users who still connect to the service using a 33.6Kbps modem.
In display news, standard size monitors rule the pack, with 4:3 aspect displays taking up 73.87% while there are only 25.7% of wide-screen monitor users. Hard drive space has also increased, too.
Further survey results can be found here.
