Nintendo: 9.5M Wii Units Sold in the US

nintendo-logo Following Sony and Microsoft’s figures for their respective consoles, Nintendo has chimed in, announcing that they have sold over 9.5 million units in North America alone; it is to be noted that Microsoft has sold 10 million Xbox 360 units in the region, making it the number one console for the continent.

According to the company, Wii, however, leads the April sales chart with 714,2000 units sold in the United States, with Mario Kart Wii being touted as the month’s second best-selling game having sold over 1.1 million copies. The company also noted that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has surpassed 3 million units sold in the region.
