Gothic 4 Gets New Name

Gamespot reports that the latest installment in the Gothic series has received a new name and is now known as Arcania: A Gothic Tale. In development at Spellbound Entertainment instead of series creator Piranha Bytes, the change of name is meant to revitalize the series in North America, where it had been comparatively unpopular than in other territories.

The report also notes that the North American and European versions of the game will feature different color palettes featuring bright and colorful graphics and gritty muted colors, respectively. This is being done as a result of months of research which showed gaming preferences in these territories.

Arcania: A Gothic Tale is in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
