Korean_Xbox-thumb-450x309 Giving gifts to VIPs he meets is nothing new, but the gift given to South Korean president Lee Myung-bak was special – a special Xbox 360 console inlaid with traditional Korean mother-of-pearl.

A hundred of these special Xbox 360s were made by a Korean artisan, intended as special VIP gifts from Microsoft’s head honcho, and one of the richest men on earth. They were the handiwork of Kim Young-jun, the head of a manufacturing company called Gookbo.

Apparently, these unique decorations represent traditional Korean beauty, with the mother-of-pearl ume flowers and butterflies symbolizing patience and perseverance. The final product was called “peace”.
