The Wii has placed itself in the market as a poor man’s console, not featuring HD support or even downloadable content for that matter. However, that may soon change as Activision has announced that the Wii edition of Guitar Hero World Tour will support in-game downloadable content.
No details were offered as to how it would be done, seeing as how the Wii only executes content from its paltry 512MB internal storage. The console allows users to expand the memory by using SD cards, but the console won’t run any applications off those.
The fourth entry in the Guitar Hero franchise is due out this Fall on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. All platforms, except for the PS2, officially support downloadable content.
