Having caused a tsunami of speculation with their original tease, PC Gamer has announced that the big reveal in their August issue is NOT Diablo 3.
“We’re officially squelching the Diablo rumor,” the magazine clarified to Voodoo Extreme. “We’ve got two big announcements coming in our August issue, but neither is from Blizzard.”
The speculation opened after the magazine teased that its cover story was so huge that they “had to go to [CENSORED] to get it,” with many believing “[CENSORED]” stood for “hell”, a possible reference to the action-RPG. It was further reinforced by fan site Blizzplanet, which noted that this year’s Blizzard Worldwide Invitation takes place on June 29, the eighth anniversary of Diablo 2’s release. The studio revealed StarCraft 2 at least year’s invitational.
