The big-screen bug has bitten Capcom, who is reportedly in talks with Hollywood to turn more of its franchises into feature films. This comes from company president Haruhiro Tsujimoto, who told Bloomberg that they are in the process of working out contracts for several offers they received at the Cannes Film Festival and hope to make an announcement soon.
“We want to do with games what Marvel did with comics,” Tsujimoto added, possibly referring to Marvel’s ability at successfully transferring its franchises to the big screen. “If realized, the projects will have a big impact on the game and movie industries.”
No specific projects were mentioned, but Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Devil May Cry, heck even Pheonix Wright would make interesting movies.
