Age of Conan MMO Tops 400,000

May 27th, 2008 Posted in MMO, News, PC by Jeff Baker

It has recently been announced that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has surpassed the 400,000 subscriber mark since its release on May 20th.

While this is just a drop in the bucket compared to World of Warcraft’s 10 million subscribers, developer Funcom is hopeful that the game’s subscriber base will continue to grow as the days go by.

Next-Generation quotes Funcom exec Morten Larssen:

“If the information we have is correct, [initial orders] represent the highest pre-order number for any global launch of an original PC game, ever, including the original World of Warcraft launch.”

Could Funcom’s Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures finally be the game to replace Blizzard’s World of Warcraft as top dog? Probably not, but only time can tell.
