Tom Clancy Dominates Ubi’s Best-selling Franchises List
French publishing giant Ubisoft has revealed its internal numbers, allowing for an interesting peek into the company’s best-selling franchises. Hosted on Gamesindustry.biz, the numbers reveal that company mascot Rayman sits at the top with an impressive 22 million units sold. The franchise was created back in 1995 by Michael Ancel, with the original going on to sell over 10 million copies.
The next three spots are occupied by Tom Clancy properties – Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon with 20, 19 and 16 million units, respectively. Quite surprisingly, the Driver franchise has sold over 14 million units, and the Prince of Persia series is superseded by Petz. Where is the world going to?!
More recent franchises include Assassin’s Creed with 6 million and Far Cry with 4 million units sold.
