Register Hardware reports that the next major firmware update for the PS3 will be released in the coming two weeks. The v2.4 firmware will feature in-game chat and video, with the latter being supported through the addition of a PS3 Eye camera.
The site also points out that a Trophy system is rumored to be included in the update. It is said to be similar to the Xbox Live Achievements award system, rewarding gamers with exclusive graphics that can be shown off to others as demonstrated in PlayStation Home.
The firmware update is yet to be confirmed by Sony, but the site speculates that it will be out around June 18.

1ok, correct me if i’m wrong.
you can just download a save file with 100& completion and put in on your ps3. i did it once when i lost my game save and i didn’t feel like beating the whole game again. are the trophies going to be on an “honor system” or something?
