Eight Days and The Getaway Canceled
In sad news for PS3 fans, SCEE has announced that it has stopped production on two major titles for the console – Eight Days and The Getaway.
“It has been agreed that production of both Eight Days and The Getaway will cease immediately due to the redistribution of resources and budget,” reads a statement by the company.
“This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion.”
Eight Days was first revealed at E3 2006 where they showed a trailer showing a mixture of in-game and cinematic footage. The video showed a desert area and a shoot-out. The Getaway was supposed to be a sequel to the PS2 franchise that was quite successful despite being a flop with critics.
