Shane Kim Promoted, Bell Resigns

shanekim Microsoft today announced that Game Studio head Shane Kim has been promoted to the newly created role of vice president of strategy and business development; the company also notes that interactive global marketing VP Jeff Bell has resigned.

Shane has served as the head of Microsoft Game Studios for over four years. He is now tasked with building the company’s future partnerships and developing growth strategies in his new position. His position at MGS will be taken over by former MGS Europe manager Phil Spencer.

Meanwhile, Bell has resigned to pursue opportunities outside of Microsoft after two years in his position. Several members of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment marketing team will carry on his responsibilities while the company looks for a replacement.
