Nintendo Apologizes to "Geeks and Otaku"

1200923154 Many of you might remember that Nintendo last week made a comment that those who are having problems with the Wii’s 512MB of storage are “geeks and otaku.” The company has taken back the statement, offering an apology of sorts from Nintendo Europe’s Laurent Fischer who made the original comment.

“I have huge respect for those who, like me, share a common passion for Nintendo and want to make it clear that I would never use and I didn’t use this terminology in such a context or way to cause offense,” he told videogaming247. “I regret that this misunderstanding has created such offense and disappointment within the community.”

His original comment was aimed at the Wii’s limited 512MB of internal storage, which can be expanded via SD cards, though content cannot be executed off said cards.
