Sony Preparing Controller That Breaks Apart

sixaxrumble Everyone wants to be the Wii! Gamesindustry.biz is reporting that Sony Computer Entertainment is at work on a new PS3 controller that will “break apart” into two individual units, each containing an accelerometer for Wii-like motion-sensing functionality. Apparently working units have already been delivered to development partners, though it is not known when it will be unveiled, though I’d bet on E3 due next month.

However, Kotaku is reporting a different story: the controller will consist of a small device that attaches to the body. Multiple devices can be worn, for example two on the hands to move a character’s hands in-game or four on the hands and feet.

Neither of the above controllers has been fully confirmed by Sony. Guess we will have to wait till E3, or whenever Sony decides to break its code of silence on the matter.
