Stardock Gets Impulsive

impulse Joining the digital distribution race is publisher Stardock who has launched Impulse, a new games distribution and retail platform for Windows XP and Windows Vista; other operating systems aren’t currently supported.

“Impulse is a platform first, a store second. Our primary objective with Impulse is to address the issues users have with their Windows experience today,” said Stardock CEO Brad Wardell.

The platform is basically a rebranded version of the company’s previous digital distribution effort Stardock Central. It is now host to the company’s own political sim Political Machine 2008, as well as Unreal Tournament 3, the first episode of Penny Arcade Adventures and Sins of a Solar Empire. More games are said to be on the way.
