Retailers Pin StarCraft II Release Date

June 23rd, 2008 Posted in Action, PC, Strategy

starcraft2 Up until today StarCraft II had no release date, but all that has changed as updated retailer listings for the game suggests that the long-awaited sequel may be out on December 3. Listings on online retailers GameStop and Best Buy pin the game’s date, though Blizzard is yet to confirm.

This has happened in the past, too, with retailers changing release dates for upcoming titles in the absence of official information, and sometimes they do have insider information on dates. Also, it may not be a coincidence that both retailers would select the same placeholder date the week before this year’s Blizzard Worldwide Invitational kicks off. The company is expected to announce more of the game, as well as reveal a new title, at the event.

All I know is that it’s a very highly anticipated game. I’ve got the kids playing the original (and loving it) just to get ready for the new Starcraft.
