art1 Tiscali Games sources the latest issue of PC Gamer for the first details of Crysis Warhead, the upcoming sci-fi FPS from Crytek, one of the few studios who can make computer hardware cry.

According to their preview, the game will offer an alternative point of view of the storyline presented in the first game, having gamers fight mostly on the other side of the island from the first title. It will feature a less linear approach and more of a sandbox type of gameplay, as opposed to the original. The single-player campaign is said to last about 10 hours, and there will be two new weapons, new vehicles, and improved enemy AI, among other things.

The game, as expected, will be better optimized and will run faster than its predecessor. Quite surprisingly, the preview notes that the possibility of a Crysis 2 relies heavily on the sales of Warhead.

The game is due out later this year and is, once more, expected to bring computers to their knees.
