Activision Blizzard Merger Approved

activision_blizzard_mockuplogo Activision today announced that its merger with Blizzard Entertainment parent company Vivendi Games has been approved by shareholders, with the transaction expected to officially close today.

The resulting company will be dubbed Activision Blizzard and will be valued at around $19 billion.

Vivendi will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Activision. The merger is one of the largest corporate consolidations in the history of the gaming industry.
