New Mirror’s Edge Details
Some new information on Mirror’s Edge, the upcoming unique first-person action game from EA DICE, have been released following a recent Electronic Arts event.
As per the new information, the game will feature a single-player story mode clocking in at 10-12 hours; missions will not be based on free-roaming play, but each level will be non-linear, letting the gamer form his own path; speed is emphasized over firepower and Faith will be unable to perform many of her moves if she is wielding a weapon.
There will also be no on-screen HUD, however, a simple reticle will be in place for aiming, as well as to prevent motion sickness. The player won’t be able to take much damage, but will be able to regenerate health over time. Finally, a bullet-time system called “Reaction Time” will slow things down for players to choose a path without losing momentum.
Finally, there won’t be any traditional multiplayer modes, but other modes of play will be included.
