While we won’t be seeing this game on any of Apple’s products, EA has recently announced Sim Animals for both the Nintendo Wii and DS.

Similar to The Sims, but this time with animals, Sim Animals will allow gamers to look after various animals controlling their habitat and daily activities. Player’s animals will thrive if the proper steps are taken such as cleaning up polluted areas and making sure there is an adequate food source by watering plants and properly scattering seeds.

A new feature to the Sims series, the animals will be aware of the players cursor, fleeing at the sight of it until proper trust is gained.

Word on the street is that there will be 25 different animal species and up to 50 different kinds of plants along with easter-eggesque seeds that when planted will cause an variety of different things to happen.

You can expect to see Sim Animals on the Wii and DS sometime in 2009.
