MTV Surprised at Konami’s Lawsuit, Plans Defensive Action

Following Konami’s lawsuit against Harmonix that alleged the MTV subsidiary of violating Konami patents from 1999, MTV has released a statement disclosing their shock and what they plan on doing.
“Konami’s actions are extremely surprising,” said a MTV spokesperson to MTV News. “Successful products such as ‘Rock Band’ can often become targets for baseless litigation. We have substantial defenses to this claim and intend to vigorously defend it.”
Konami accused Rock Band of infringing on its patents for a “musical-rhythm matching game” and attempted to block its sales. The company is currently working on a Rock Band-esque title Rock Revolution on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS for release this Fall.
