E3 2008: More Creatures Created in Spore Than in Real Life

July 16th, 2008 Posted in E3, PC, Software by Jeff Baker

EA has announced at it’s E3 press conference that people around the world have collectively created more than 1.8 million creatures using Spore’s Creature Creator, easily eclipsing the real world creature count at 1.5 million.

The Creature Creator hasn’t even been avaiable to the public for a month and already the number of creatures is this high. Just imagine how many creatures will be avaiable in the final game.

During the press conference, Spore’s creator Will Wright was quoted to have said that EA had hoped to have 100,000 creatures uploaded by September, a number that they reached in just 22 hours after the Creature Creator went live.

EA then went on to announce that National Geographic is developing a documentry on evolution using none other than Spore that will air on TV and ship with the special edition of Spore.
