It seems that a box office take of nearly two hundred million wasn’t enough as the action film Wanted is going to get the video game treatment. With crazy action sequences, gunfights aplenty and the ever popular slow motion effects it certainly seems like it’ll be a decent match. Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group will be teaming up with Pete Wanat again to create the game. This matchup has created some of the better film license games out there including The Thing and Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay. The actual developing is being handled by GRIN, the group behind the Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter games.

The title will feature action based directly on the plot of the film of course with the player taking the role of Wesley Gibson, the character played by James McAvoy. The plot will extend beyond what happens in the movie however with some extra chapters created specifically for the game. The game will of course feature a slow motion feature called “Assassin Time” and the players will be able to curve their bullets just as the character in the film does. The game has been in development for some time and will be released later this year.
