Flagship Still Alive

July 18th, 2008 Posted in Business

hgl_high_logo Contradicting reports that the studio was down and out for the count, a post on Flagship’s website notes that the studio is still alive, though it does agree that most of their employees have been laid off.

The post also states that they are still owners of both their IPs – Hellgate: London and Mythos - but that they are currently not accepting new subscriptions, nor are they billing current subscribers.

“It is with deep regret that I must announce that Flagship Studios has laid off most employees. However, the core management and founding team members are still at Flagship.” said Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios. “The past five years have been an incredible experience for us, but unfortunately, we couldn’t sustain the size of the company any longer.”

Huh. So I wonder just what they’re going to do then. The money spent managing the servers will have to come from somewhere, yipes just yipes.
