E3 2008: EA CEO Confirms KOTOR MMO

July 19th, 2008 Posted in Action, E3, MMO, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 by Rajiv Ashrafi

bioware EA CEO John Riccitiello has confirmed that BioWare is working on a MMO based on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic franchise.

“We’ve got two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development,” said Riccitiello. “The one that people are dying for us to talk to them about — in partnership with Lucas, coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it.”

When asked if he was referring to KOTOR, the CEO simply responded “yes.”

No release date or platforms have been revealed for the MMO. A PC version is obviously in development, but BioWare has made several comments that it may be considering console versions as well.
