While motion capture technology feels like it’s been around forever, it’s mostly used by martial artists, acrobats or other astoundingly capable people to include accurate portrayals of their amazing feats in games. One man who’s going to be donning a motion capture suit will be featured in a video game because of his great feats of, well, feet!
Born without arms, this sixty-four year old British mayor Frank Letch has developed incredible dexterity in his lower extremities, being able to drive a car, write and even peel a potato simply with his feet. He’ll be putting on special leggings with motion capture sensors and then be recorded doing a variety of things with his feet. The game will be developed by British studio Fragment Media, but there’s no details of the game yet.

1Mr Letch is a truly remarkable man,
I worked with him for 5 years when we both taught French at Ysgol Y Berwyn, Bala. He speaks several languages, lets nothing beat him, and will not allow himself to be called handicapped. While we were teaching, he used an overhead projector instead of a blackboard, writing with his feet, opening the door with his feet for me if I had my arms full of excercise books, and never asking for help.
