New Diablo Screenshots

July 25th, 2008 Posted in Adventure, News, PC, RPG by Will Prusik

Blizzard has released five more bits of Diablo III goodness: a couple screenshots, what looks like a clip from a cutscene (although it’s categorized as ‘artwork’) and two bits of concept art. The screenshots aren’t anything terribly new at this juncture, simply the barbarian hacking up some monsters and a few monsters roaming around the dungeon. The artwork shows a little more, one being a depiction of an old stone wall covered in moss and bearing the last tattered scraps of a red banner and another a young girl lit by candlelight. Most interesting however is the third artwork, the concept for a creature called a ‘Mistress Of Pain’ which dates back to 2003.

Looking like a cross between an evil dominatrix and an exterminator’s worst nightmare it’s a thing in the typical horrendous style of the Diablo creatures. It’s very obviously a spider-like creature and from the captions has the somewhat predictable ability to spin webs that can slow the players movements, although it can also shoot out exploding projectiles from its thorax. See all the screens after the break.
