Blizzard Beta Keys Fetch Big Money

Fans go insane for gaining access to Blizzard’s infamous betas, but how crazy are they for it? Apparently some Wrath of the Lich King beta keys are being sold on eBay for around $1000! Most keys are selling for between $200 to $600, which is still a ridiculously high sum.

While beta access is usually tied to accounts, the keys being sold were distributed at Blizzard’s BlizzCon 2007 and 2008 Worldwide Invitational events where keys were given out to attendees.

Wrath of the Lich King, the second expansion pack for World of Warcraft, will be released later this year.
