There’s nothing gaming companies love more than to re-release bundles of previous titles when a new title is coming out; mostly because it generally works; Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 put their predecessors back on top of the sales charts.

Midway is aiming for the same thing with Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe by releasing Mortal Kombat Kollection for the PS2. The official press release states that they intend this to allow players to hone their Kombat skills before the release of the crossover fighting game, but it’s more likely intended to drum up more business for the holiday season release. It’s a slightly limited collection though, only consisting of some of the more recent titles: Mortal Kombat: Deception, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and the well-reviewed but often overlooked action game Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.
